The book “Radiation in Everyday Life – Workbook / Teacher’s Guide” addresses curricular topics related to radiation and radioactivity from a pedagogical perspective, with the aim of supporting classroom application across different educational levels. This work is primarily intended for teachers at the primary, secondary, and higher education levels. The book is divided into three clearly differentiated sections. The first section develops curricular content linked to the historical context and the biographies of key figures associated with each topic, concluding with an activity worksheet. The second section presents pedagogical resources designed for classroom use with students of different ages. The third section is a compendium of pedagogical sequences proposed by teachers who successfully completed the training courses offered by the Bariloche Atomic Center – Balseiro Institute: “Introduction to Natural Radiation” (for primary level) and “Radiation in Everyday Life” (for secondary and higher education). These proposals were later implemented in the classroom with students and subsequently evaluated.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Balseiro Institute, the engineers and educators, and especially to Dr. Torres, for giving me the opportunity to take part in this project as a scholarship-funded participating teacher—an experience that was deeply enriching both professionally and pedagogically, and that strengthened my commitment to science education in diverse educational contexts.
